Encouraging Bible Verses

My faith has been a huge part of my journey to greater health and these encouraging Bible verses from God’s Word have been an incredibly important part of my remaining focused on Him.  It was not until I submitted my weaknesses to the Lord, started to view my body as the temple that scripture says it is, and relied on His strength that my focus shifted and I started to see true life change.  My focus on health is no longer about how I look or what size jeans I wear; It’s about honoring the Lord with my choices, living the life of joy and abundance that He’s called me to, and seeing myself as loved and fearfully and wonderfully made.

Some are scriptures that I have memorized to meditate on through the day and especially in the midst of temptation.  Others are verses that are written on cards and placed through out the house and in places that I can spot them regularly.  One thing that has helped me is to keep my Bible open near or in the kitchen.  My days are crazy, but its so refreshing to read a quick verse as I cook dinner or walk by with laundry in hand.

These are a few of the many encouraging scriptures that I read and prayed over the last two years.  I pray that they encourage you and most importantly keep you focused on our God who able!

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sister, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:1-2

“Everything is permissible for me – but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me – but I will not be mastered by anything.” 1 Corinthians 6:12

“Let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back . . . and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 LB

“Don’t depend on your own power or strength, but on my Spirit” Zechariah 4:6

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

“You will keep in perfect peace all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah 26:3 NLT

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit.” Ephesians 3:16

“Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race.” Philippians 3:13-14
